Animal Chronicles

Stories of men and animals in the North.

ANIMAL CHRONICLES is a documentary series broadcast on Rai Due, dedicated to the bond between humans and animals in the North. Three stories set between Norway and Sweden, where the relationship with nature is not romanticism but daily necessity, cultural roots, a way of life.

THE ALASKAN HUSKY explores the world of sled dogs through the life of a Norwegian breeder: the bond each dog builds with the entire family, the origins and traits of a breed forged by cold, hardship, and the joy of running across ice. A journey that is both history and belonging.

RØROSMARTNAN: The great Røros market is an event that for weeks commands the attention of the Nordic countries. Merchants retrace the ancient routes of their ancestors: days of travel through frozen forests, on horse-drawn sleds, in traditional attire. A ritual that is not reenactment but living continuity between past and present.

CAMBIO VITA follows a young Italian woman who has chosen to start over in Sweden, bringing with her one companion: a Siberian Husky. A story of radical change, told through the bond between a person and an animal.
