Three gardens. Three identities. One vision.
Giardini Hanbury in Ventimiglia, Val Rahmeh in Menton and Villa Thuret in Antibes share a common purpose: to protect, study, and preserve the botanical heritage of the planet. Yet each possesses a distinct identity — in scale, in architecture, in scientific vocation, in the species it shelters. From this tension between unity and diversity comes the concept of an integrated film strategy: a single visual communication project, delivered across multiple formats, designed to tell the story of nature through the eyes of those who inhabit it every day.
Botanical gardens cannot exist without the people who tend them. Botanists, researchers, custodians: individuals who dedicate their lives to these places and who, over time, become an inseparable part of them — forming a quiet symbiosis between human expertise and the vitality of nature.
There is a further dimension, invisible to the visitor: the web of relationships each botanical garden maintains with others across the world. Seeds exchanged, knowledge shared about species and their adaptation, a constant scientific dialogue between continents. A global synergy that makes every visit, even the simplest, part of a much larger story.
I chose an approach built on unusual, evocative imagery — macro and micro, unexpected angles, a visual dance capable of moving through the many habitats of the three gardens and capturing aspects at once peculiar and universal. A narrative that weaves together the voices of nature’s custodians with the voice of nature itself, always seeking to keep visible the thread that binds them.
Not didactic illustration, but storytelling.
The project unfolds across three distinct formats, each designed for different contexts and audiences:
Documentary — approx. 6′
A film in which three realities interweave and respond to one another in a continuous flow that conveys the character of each place without ever losing the sense of the whole.
Promotional Films — 3 × 1’30”
One film for each garden: intense, self-contained, immediately recognisable. High-impact communication tools designed to attract visitors and promote each garden across its own channels.
Instagram Reels — approx. 30 for Giardini Hanbury.
A complete visual editorial plan built to generate a consistent and recognisable presence on social media.
